It would be better if you have a place for ads in your blogs. I would always prefer an adsense ready template because it would not consume my times for placing ads later. This will help you to save your time and prevents your blog to look ugly later when you add ads.
Other thing you need to check is Browser Compablity. Since your visitors can be using different browsers, you need to check the demo of the theme with all the browsers you can before you install the theme, making sure that the template is browser compatible so that you can control all your visitors no matter which browsers they use.
